Matthew is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has qualifications from the Australian Insurance Institute, the Self Managed Superannuation Fund Association and ASFA. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a member of the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees.  Additionally Matthew is a director of Prime Super (an independent superannuation fund) and Caulfield Grammar School.

Matthew’s career in financial services began in 1987. He held management positions prior to 1996 with Prudential (where he was originally licensed as a financial planner though Financial Wisdom) and Scottish Australia (formerly Scottish Amicable). He worked in a variety of roles including business development, client service, sales and marketing, corporate superannuation and product development.

Matthew joined Godfrey Pembroke (the Doncaster practice) as a self employed financial adviser in 1996. In 2002 Matthew merged his business with Neil McKissock.

As an adviser Matthew specialises in superannuation (including self managed superannuation), strategic planning and investment markets.

Matthew is a regular media contributor commenting on superannuation and the industry in general. Away from work, Matthew’s interests include family (he has four children), sport, community work, reading and gardening.
